"I'm a mom, a wife, and the proud principal of WSHS. What do I love the most about our Viking Village? The diversity. In the words of Maya Angelou, "We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color." It is also my goal for each student to think about our school theme and consider what they can do to support Building Bridges, Closing Gaps, and Leaving Legacies. And finally, reach out to me as your school principal if I can do anything to support you!"
We developed our school theme Building Bridges, Closing Gaps, and Leaving Legacies after Mrs.Abney became principal in January of 2016. This then was established through collaboration with students, parents, and staff members. We believe that our focus as Vikings should be building bridges with one another, closing those gaps that still exist in our society, and finally, leaving our legacies through the contributions we leave for future generations.
